C1 – Developing Water Awareness in Schools – Italy (May 2021) / Virtual
The partners of the Erasmus+ project “Water is Life!”, Italy, Turkey, North Macedonia and Romania, joined into the 1st Kick-off meeting on line 17th- 21st May 2021 that was organised by the Italian partner. Information about Italy and the educational system of the country and the host school were presented by the host organisation and the partners introduced their institutions. The partners had a general discussion about the project- expectations, roles, tasks, international meeting dates, accommodation, costs.
We reminded the roles of each partner in the project process.
• Italy: / Creates the Commnication Strategy : Production of final results QM (Quality Management)
• North Macedonia / Creates the Monitoring Plan: Designing and planning resources for non-formal education (before meeting); posting resources Creation of the WSC-Water Saving Chart –
• Romania / Process results of survey about the logo Creates the Dissemination Plan Administration of the eTwinning space together with Italy
•Türkiye / Creates the Evaluation Plan Conducting the final evaluation, preparing final report compiling and sharing 5 topic related language dictionaries storing audio-visual records from meetings and Website and social communication.
Students took part in some moments of the on line meeting presenting some of the Educational material prepared and actively participating to the padlet to get to know each other and the places where they live (LINK: https://padlet.com/Jonopai/water-is-life-erasmus-2020-1-it02-ka229-079304-epdm6veidl44n0of) and kahoot competition.
C2 – Clean Water is What We First Need – North Macedonia (October 2021)
The partners of the Erasmus+ project “Water is Life!” Italy, Romania and Turkey were visitors in our country North Macedonia where we have joined into the 2nd short-term exchange pupils meeting in our school SOUG” KIRIL PEJCINOVIC” TETOVO from 3rd-9th October, 2021
On the first day Students in traditional clothes awaited in the school yard the partners/participants(guest).
Then inside the school hall an exhibition of pictures painted by the students of the second year related to water was shown to the participants by introducing shortly the theme they prepared and the host students and teachers proceeded with the tour around the school. After the principal of the North Macedonia’s school has welcomed the participants, the coordinator of the host team has introduced herself and her students to each partner teams.
Partners team have presented videos about their schools and territory, traditions and folklore related to water
Informal activities have been carried out to get to know each other (tasting traditional food prepared by the host students themselves).
Students presented education materials. They carried out Experiments related to waterThe main topic “CLEAN WATER IS WHAT WE FIRST NEED” was pointed out, generally in physics, chemistry and Art (EM).TWe chose the logo that will represent our project on next motilities . Declaring the winner logo: unanimously elected Turkey as the winner logo according the points taken by each country votes . (EM)Water chart Students presented a chart about the topic.EM: PPT presentation of canals waterways in our area(Brindisi) Italy.
The depuration water system of Lampedusa for the immigrants premises PPT- Italy.
We Visited the Matka Canyon and the underwater cave resented the graphics of water supplies in the Republic of North Macedonia (diagrams and statistics of the entire country. we discussed about a presentation on NASA project , how to obtain water in air community by Romania; discussion about a presentation on Marmora sea problem (impacted) Turkey; Meteo- station working and data – Romania. Hammer presentation of mixed group of students about the story they created( words chosen previously to express their language skills).
Visiting the water supply of reservoir of the city (EM) A brief description of the basin done by our students. Visiting the capital city: historical, archeological and cultural monuments. “Clean water is what we need” (EM)Chemistry PPT with students (P6)Kahoot game.
Designing a T-shirt (interaction with all students to draw a shirt and present it). Workshop to choose the MOTTO ( creation of five languages motto to be used on t-shirt, education material and so on). Project management: designing a short topic related to the theme to use on next mobility. Discuss about next mobility – tasks and things to do until then a) We agreed to expand the T-shirt design at the all partners’ schools(participate all students and elect the winner T-shirt on the next mobility)
C3- Water as Lifeline for Mankind – Romania (April 2022)
he previous meeting scheduled for the end of january in Turkey was cancelled because of the Pandemic situation. the partner schools egreed on an adjustment of the schedule during the on line meetings previous to this mobility. the dates are: 4th – 9th April in Romania;17th 21st October 2023 in Turkey; 27th-31st April 2023 in Italy.
We dealt with the following subject which were carried out during the presence meeting 4TH-9th April 2022: WATER AS LIFELINE FOR MANKIND.
The partners of the Erasmus+ project “Water is Life!”, North Macedonia and Turkey were visitors in our country Romania where we have joined into the 3rd short-term exchange pupils meeting in our school COLEGIUL NATIONAL “ANDREI SAGUNA BRASOV – ROMANIA – Italy have been connected on-line. Due to hardships caused by the Pandemic situation and ucertainties due to otbreak of war in Ukrain Italian parents refused to send their children in Romania.
All the partners have introduced their team. Informal activities have been carried out to get to know each other. Then inside the school the Andrei Saguna National High School have have led a visit of the school . afterwards the host teams have visited Brasov – the Old Center for guided tour. The key points about the project have been summed up and the main topic “WATER AS A LIFELINE FOR MANKIND.
AniInterdisciplinary Contest – “Water is Life” was organized by the Romanian team, a discussion the proposed issues/problems followed. The teams carried out research on the proposed problems and wrote the power-point presentations. Italy carried out the activity always in on-line session; they presented their power point with a debate and discussion about the weak and strong points of each work. A ranking was drawn up.
The teams visited to the Chamber of Commerce in Brasov – Environmental issues in the region presented by specialized companies. Then a Contest on the Moodle platform of the school COLEGIUL NATIONAL “ANDREI SAGUNA BRASOV coordinated by the Mathematics teacher on the following topic: Water as Lifeline for Mankind.
A visit to the Water and Sewerage Company in Brasov Packed and to the Bran Castle.
In conclusion of the meeting, the prize was awarded to the winner team of the contest carried out on the 5th and 6th April. The certificates given to the participants.
For the implementation phase educational materials (EM) were produced according to the specific topic chosen for this LTTA: “WATER AS LIFELINE FOR MANKIND”C3 offered students the chance to actively get involved in activities where they studied water`s role at the level of local communities (…); they produced EM on this topic.
During the mobilitiy the students displayed their presentations prepared from before the meeting: videos/PPT/short fils/PREZI etc- students also enjoy a whole week among their host students,attended school together, had meals together, attended traditional meals prepared by families, played outdoor games together, sang, danced, listened to each other’smusic, expanded awareness about each other`s cultures and lifestyle, working habits, collaborating, doing teamwork in mixed teams, improving communication skills, familiarizing with some key words from host`s language, actively involved in activities and other sorts of indirect interactions. This LTTA helped students to enhance team working in multicultural environment.
Participants also enhanced their communication abilities and other life-skills: team spirit, collaborating for obtaining a common goal, expressing themselves also by using virtual team working . T Students shared information and their experiences to each other in English so they developed their language competences.
Accompanying teachers in the short-term exchanges of groups of pupils got in touch with other educational systems. They shared experiences to increase students motivation. They reinforced the relations between school – families/ parents’ association – policy makers.
Italy was very grateful for the efforts made by Romania and all the other partners to organize and hold a mixed mobility in the hope that never again a situation like this may happen because it deprives the experience of its true essence and meaning.
C4- Water as a Means of Communication – Türkiye (October 2022)
The guests were welcomed by the host school. Students spent their time together with host students using English as the communication language. After Turkish teachers’ welcoming the 4 guest partner countries, and host students introduced their school, city, educational system to the guest teachers, students and guests of the local community. Then each partner school did the same presentations to everybody.
There was a meeting at the school among the teachers on which they agreed about the project activities. All the participants gave feedback of the meeting with an evaluation google form. The teachers discussed the lesson, lesson plan, documentation, possible adaptations of the lesson. Students explored the town together with the help of the local students.
All team visited “ Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts”, “Blue Mosque” and “Hagia Sophia Mosque” as a very important activity to learn about the host country’s culture. All the participants visited “Topkapı Palace” , “Grand Bazaar” and “Spice Bazaar”. The group explored the Old Town, the heart of the city, historical peninsula and the centenary constructions. So they understood, felt the soul of the city, country history and culture.
All the participants visited Dolmabahçe Palace, Taksim Square, Galata Tower also St. Anthony of Padua Church and Roman Catholic Church. They felt how important is the respect of each religion in community life, in the world. The participants visited
Princes’ Islands altogether.
Host and guest students played a game named “Catching Flag” and cooperated with each other. They had some time in “Büyükada” and spent a relaxing peaceful time with good friendship. Some of the students saw an island for first time in their life. In the evening an international evening was organized during which all students danced to their own folkdance and taught their mates to dance. Certificates were given to all participants.
A constructive working climate was established by promoting connections with official bodies (University of Istanbul).

Participants also enhanced their communication abilities and other life-skills: team spirit, collaborating for obtaining a common goal, expressing themselves freely.They developed their ITC skills. They got to know different lifestyles and with these they can understand European common frames of working in the future better. Students shared information and their experiences to each other in English so they developed their language competences. Accompanying teachers in the short-term exchanges of groups of pupils got in.
C5- Water as a Life Fountain – Italy (March 2023)
We dealt with the following subject which were carried out during the presence meeting 4TH-9th April 2022: “WATER AS A FOUNTAIN OF LIFE”.After the coordinator of the Italian school has welcomed the participants and introduced each partner teams. Each team presented videos and photo-stories of the previous mobilities and shared it on the social media ; informal activities took place to get to know each other. A visit of the Italian school followed with a particular remark at the hydroponic system of irrigation installed at the school premises. The group visited the water related spots in Brindisi (the remains of the Roman aqueduct – the harbour: crossroads of people: the latest Italian stop of the legendary “Indian Mail” setting sail to the Eastern world)
workshops, seminars, visit to water related sites and meeting for future arrangements took place. Visits to Castellana’s Caves ( how water works underground. ; guided visit to the phytodepuration plant by the engineers of the Apulian aqueduct and Legambiente; visiting Porto Cesareo and the famous natural cavities in the karstic soil; visit to the city of Lecce – documentary on the underground river: “the IDUME” crossing the city of Lecce.
As for the dissemination students worked in international groups to create infographics about why to save water. They showed up the infographics in the classrooms at school and at the Erasmus corner. They prepared questions and googleform questions for the interviews carried out in the streets during the visits in the places included in the program. They asked questions at interviews by the communication department of the Apulian aqueduct .
Students participated in a constructive working climate to promote the project by building connections with official bodies: meeting the Mayor as a representative of the Apulian Water Authority, engineers from Apulian Water authority and from Apulian Aqueduct, the presidents of charities involved in water issues.
The Water Saving Chart was signed by all Countries and Arrangements on how to arrange the 5-language dictionary. The Deadline for the project questionnaire, 5-language dictionary,
C5 offered students the chance to actively get involved in activities where they studied water`s role at the level of local communities: Apulian aqueduct: history, functions and crucial role in the Apulian territory: “Circularity in water resources management”, the function of a phytodepuration plant.they produced EM on this topic. During the mobility the students displayed their presentations prepared from before the meeting: videos/PPT/short films/PREZI etc- on the topic: water shortage in each country. (Link to PPT).
During this mobility a group of students were hosted in families. This enhanced their communication abilities and other life-skills: they got to know different lifestyles and habits, attended traditional meals prepared by host families, familiarized with some key words from host`s language.
They also enjoy a whole week among their host students, attended school together, , played outdoor games together, sang, danced, listened to each other’s music, expanded awareness about each other`s cultures and lifestyle, working habits, collaborating, doing teamwork in mixed teams, improving communication skills, actively involved in activities and other sorts of indirect interactions. This LTTA helped students to enhance team working in multicultural environment.
